A Sentinel in a Tumultuous Land 200904

If you don't know what this picture is, don't worry until you see one at your doorstep.
We live in a world of turmoil, that disturbs all of us to some degree. In our beautiful country, we have too many differences that really upset us. I do not think this was always the way, but then I don't know for sure because I wasn't here a hundred years ago. What I see is the division between rich and poor, between white and brown, between companies and employees, and of course politics. None of these things have to be this way, but they certainly are this way.

Rich and poor, I would like to see the ultra-wealthy pay their share of taxes just like working people have to do on every dollar they earn. The wealthy do have what should be a nice life, but just because they are well-off doesn't mean they are monarchs who don't have to follow the laws of our country.

White/brown, if people just realized we are all human beings and actually listened and spoke with each other they would realize the majority of us want the same things out of life. Just because someone does not have white skin does not mean they are low on intellect, quite the contrary if one bothers to spend more than 2 seconds and actually converse with them.

Companies, far too many treat employees like ignorant slobs. Employees are humans and any company in the country is only as good as the workforce that their managers oversee. I am amazed at how well employees do and the dedication they have to a company that has no reciprocial feelings to the workers. I saw that far too much at Litton, but it was not just Litton, it's everywhere.

Politicians, we have two parties that are diametrically opposed to each other. The leadership on both sides barely speak to each other and the rank and file members do not speak to the other side at all. Nothing gets accomplished unless people sit and discuss issues, and I do not mean bark at each other. The rank and file members act like male members, if you get my drift there.
