Your Sentinel, Banana Republics 200603

The Sentinel

All the news that's fit to print and some that's not.

Banana Republic

Venezuela is a banana republic and when its citizens protest the government's actions the dictator there brings out the army to put down the protests.

In America the first amendment to the constitution allows freedom of assembly for its citizens to protest

Monday night the president deployed the 82nd Airborne division from Fort Bragg in North Carolina to Washington D.C. to break up peaceful protests.

Tear Gas

I never dreampt I would have to write a post like this before now.

Tear gas used in Washington on peaceful protesters

This is a clear violation of the first amendment to the constitution. We talk incessantly about the second amendment, but never the first amendment. Does this seem like a republic response to you?

Helicopters

Black Hawk helicopters flying low over D.C. using combat tactics to disperse peaceful demonstration. They got low enough to knock branches off trees onto protesters.
