Stepping UpWe are right smack in the middle of a crisis. Right now things are as bad, even worse than the Great Depression, (This reporter always wonders what was great about that Great Depression) millions of people are unemployed and while not standing in the old bread lines, they are hitting the food banks hard. People are worried about making rent or mortgage payments with little or no income. Until recently store shelves were empty. Our throttlebottom politicians are not helping, but the average American is stepping up (as we do) and making a big difference in other people's lives. There is a TV commercial running about everyday heroes and I have to say we have an abundance of them during this crisis. Those that have some money are using it to buy food and distribute it to those who have not. I am very proud to be an American and a veteran! Those who came before us did the work to build this nation, not politicians, but regular hard-working Americans and now it is our job to keep this nation that was handed down to us intact. May God bless us and the rest of the world in our time of tribulation.

DictatorsThroughout history these men have risen to power through brutality and building hate for a particular group or race. Their goal was to annihilate an entire chosen group of people. So far as this reporter knows none have been successful, but they keep trying. Genocide is a horrible word and a vicious way of elimination. Now with this pandemic the world is facing it won't be just one race of people dying, it could be the whole human kind. Not all of us pray, but some do send good wishes up to what they call the supreme being. I am okay with either as long as we all fixate on seeking to make this virus go away. Several countries are flattening out the upward curve that has plagued the world up to now, but that doesn't necessarily mean this virus goes away forever. It could come roaring back at any time or even if we find a cure, viruses have a way of morphing into something slightly different that can escape a cure. The world has fought the lowly cockroach since the beginning of time, yet the little buggers still survive. Should the world sink into a nuclear war that destroys humanity forever (and nuclear war would kill every human on the planet, not immediately but within a year.) The lowly cockroach would still survive. One has to at least admire its tenacity if nothing else about them.
