The Real Sentinel News for Sunday 200419

The Sentinel

All the news that's fit to print and some that's not.

Low Energy Day

Joyce and I both were tired of being cooped up inside yesterday, we felt like just sitting, talking having some cold refreshments. During our talk She came up with an idea. I was already two beers in, so her idea sounded good. It actually was one of the things I wrote about in a Sentinel news piece a week or so ago. Her idea was relocating some furniture in the living room and bedroom. The result was terrific though it turned into a five to six hour project, moving, shuffling redesigning the look of both rooms. The act of getting up and doing something invigorated us both and suddenly we breezed through the whole day. Sometimes it's good to follow your own advise.

West Coast Bureau Chief

Our chief on the west coast has now compiled indexed transcribed and written two volumes of family history. It was a massive task, but a labor of love over 30 years. I have to admire the effort he put into these two pieces of work.

Along the way in the last four years or so he has edited three books for three different people and handled the publishing of them. Your Sentinel editor here had a slight hand in assisting the editing of two of those books and they turned out well, again mainly because the stories were terrific.

Our west coast chief has done all this while working as an IT professional for 35 years until he retired. Now he donates his time helping countless other people solve their computer problems. He is always a busy man and a good friend for just over 40 years now. Congratulations Chief!

Quick Yoga

I have two pictures of yoga poses here below that will make your life better. You do them for as long at a time as you want. You do not go beyond what your body muscles tell you not to. I usually do 6 deep breaths in each pose, you may want to start with 3 deep breaths. As in all poses, use your diaphragm to control your breathing. The first pose is easy to do and this will tighten your derriere up enough to bounce a quarter off it.

This second pose will tighten up your stomach muscles beyond anything you had as a kid. The pose is shown against a wall, but you need to do it without a wall. The results will astound you.

Both poses will not change you overnight, but in time. You will look better and feel better about yourself.
