The Sentinel News 200326a

The Sentinel

All the news that's fit to print and some that's not.

Locked Up

The Sentinel News staff is locked up in our offices, doing what we can to protect ourselves from the virus and hiding from those pesky agents from that government agency that starts with an F and ends with an I. Being reporters that write independent news and not the spoon-fed pablum from the government, we have to be very careful. Governments around the world now have surveillance cameras watching day and night. We being a small organization, we just have the RING system sold by Amazon. It works well enough for us to have time to slip into our underground bunker for safety.

The Market Indexes

So far this morning the markets are up, despite the a record 3,280,000 new unemployment claims filed this past week. The whims and ways the market shifts were always confusing to this reporter before, but now with the super-fast trading system that big investing firms use these days it's impossible to get a real-time picture of what things will be by end of trading on any given day. Yesterday the Dow-Jones dropped over 800 points in the last 20 minutes of trading. That was a 3% fall which is billions of dollars vaporizing.

Vaping Vs Smoking

This is a touchy subject for discussing, but it needs to be done. This reporter and other staff members switched from smoking to vaping. It was touted as safe in the past. That has been found to not be true. According to Johns-Hopkins hospital: vaping inhales particulates into the lungs and can cause serious lung damage and heart seizures in less than 1 year! For some reason vaping is worst in young teens. We here quit vaping just because we didn't care for it and now we are thankful for doing so early on.

For those who quit smoking and changed to other sources of nicotine, there is no smoke going into the lungs, so that is better, but according to NHS nicotine gum can stimulate a mutation that is associated with the FOXM1 gene that leads to cancer.
