We were sitting yesterday, having a beer when we got to thinking how lucky we have been to have such a wide range of friends during our life so far.
The list of countries and states is as follows: Japan, China, India, Pakistan, Vietnam, Philippines, Uk, France, Mexico, Canada and in the USA, Maine, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Florida, Louisiana, California, Washington, Rhode Island, Minnesota, Colorado, Texas, New Mexico, Mississippi, Illinois, Oklahoma, Missouri, Kansas, Arkansas and New York. We have had friends in all four branches of the U.S. military services. All were different and all were good people.
We have never been wealthy in terms of cash, but we have been rich in friends. Some of the best times were when we little to nothing and barely scraping by payday to payday. You know who the real friends are when you are nearly broke all of the time and have nothing to offer but yourself.
I have met people who within five minutes of meeting them, they were asking for a substantial loan. I've known people who were borrowing small amounts of money from everyone in the organization every day and were not real good at repaying anyone. Those kinds of friends are not good to have hanging around. They usually wander off for better hunting elsewhere. That happens after they have clipped you and you find out they have done the same thing to everyone else.
