What a grand country we live in today! Our technology is superior, our history is great, our people are the hardest working, most dedicated workers the world has ever known, and our children will be the best generation ever on this planet. We are so blessed to live here.
I remember during my time in the navy when everywhere I went I thought about how lucky I was to be living in this country. If you have never left this country to see how others live it is difficult to imagine how great it is to live here. Sure there are beautiful, desirable places to visit around the world, but when you see how most people in other countries live you realize what a wonderful country this America is and will continue to be long after we are dead and gone.
We here have the right to protest what we believe is wrong. That is not always available in many countries. There were times in this country when protests have been met with brutality and jail for a period of time and that was wrong, but in many countries protesters were beaten, jailed and never seen again. Therein lies the difference back then and now in our country.
I hope and pray that God will find favor in this country and save it from becoming like others with dictators and suspension of rights. Our founding fathers started a new form of government unknown at the time, while facing potential imprisonment and death by defying the king of England, a dictator who ruled the colonies back then. Let's hope we remember the founding fathers and never let this country be enslaved by a dictatorial ruler. "God bless the USA."
