Gravity 1706

Many people do not realize that the earth spins on its axis. They know the axis tilts and that causes summer and winter. How fast does the earth spin? I looked that up for you. The answer is hardly believable; it spins at 1000 miles an hour. If you do not believe that, think about this; it takes 24 hours to complete a day. The earth has a circumference of 24,000 miles at the equator, so it takes a speed of rotation of 1,000 miles per hour to rotate through one day. Now if you were on a merry-go-round spinning at that speed you would fly off in a second. So why don’t we fly off the earth? The answer is gravity. Pretty cool eh?
