Nothing Learned, Nothing Gained

I am reading Bill Bryson’s book “One Summer, America 1927,” it has so much wonderful information about the history of not only 1927, but all events from much earlier in the century. The interesting thing to me is the fact that what we are experiencing today and since 2001 all happened in the nineteen twenties. I keep thinking of the phrase “Those who do not remember the past are condemned to relive it.” Everything that has happened in the last 15 years happened in the nineteen twenties. Apparently we have learned nothing from those years.
