I’m starting the new year in a way I never expected. My credit card, which I’ve had since 1986 has been breached for the first time by assholes trying to screw me. Not just one, but 3 different ones.
It has been a nightmare, beyond any nightmares I have ever had in my 79 years on this planet. I just got off the phone this morning with my credit card company. I am visibly shaken by the last few days in December.
The good news is I think all will be well in the next few days when I receive a new card with a new number. I’ve had some harrowing experiences in my lifetime, but this one tops them all. It seems the bad guys are getting smarter at screwing the good guys. I don’t know what the future will bring, but I hope it’s better for me than last December.
Best wishes to all of you in the coming year! I’ll do my best to make my 2025 better than 2024. I know some of you may have celebrated on new year’s eve, but today I’m celebrating my hope for a year of no breaches with my new credit card.

It's amazing how smart these hackers have gotten. Really tricks me off. I've had that happen to me too. I like you am hoping for a better year than last year. Wishing you the best. BB
ReplyDeleteBB, I am hoping for a good year in 2025. One that ends better than this year did. Hopefully we'll have a good year and keep up our correspondence. Good health and good luck in 2025.

I have renewed credit cards 3 times this past year. What a pain especially having to change automatic withdrawals from different folks. Life just gets more and more complicated for sure.
ReplyDeleteThis is a first for me and I hope the last time. It is a frightening experience for me. I'm waiting for my new card to arrive and having to use cash for whatever I buy at the grocery. I hadn't used cash for decades and it feels weird doing so.
