I did some research today.
I was curious as to which is the most commonly used letter in the English language.
It turns out that it is the letter E. That is followed by my guess the letter T. The next most commonly used letters are A,I,N,O and S all used with the same frequency. The list goes on, but I got tired of studying it, as you might be too.
The name Ted popped up in my head several days ago. I was thinking of when Joyce and I got married. There were 4 of my buddies at the wedding and the only name I could remember was Ted Ostrowski. We were all in the same barracks at the naval technical training in Millington, Tennessee. Ted was my closest friend at that time. I’ve been wondering what ever happened to him? He would be as old as I am if he is still alive. Ted was a quiet young man and a good guy to talk with.
There is another Ted who was in my life. Ted was a product engineer at Burroughs when I was there. When I first went to Burroughs looking for a job, I was interviewed by four different engineers, the last of which was Ted and he hired me as his assistant in the engineering lab. We became good friends along the way and still are today, 49 years later. Ted was a no nonsense guy and the best engineer in the company.
One last name with a T that I worked with in the radio, navigation, and tacan repair shop on the USS Enterprise was a really good guy and good friend, Taylor, Travis, Tritt. He was a Colorado boy. I suspect his name has more Ts in it than any other person. I’ve never met any bad folks from Colorado.
In fact, I was conceived in Fort Collins, Colorado. My dad was trained as an artilleryman in Fort Collins during WW-2. Mom and dad wanted a son before his departure to Patton’s 3rd army in Germany. Mom traveled from Saint Louis to Fort Collins and the rest is history. Now at 79 years old I am the eldest in our clan. When I die, the torch will fall to my brother or one of my 3 sisters. For some reason, 3 Sisters sounds like a good name for a winery.
