My granddaughter Hailey was the stage manager and her crew worked magic. Props were changed in darkness on the back of the stage while one or two actors were in a spotlight at the front of the stage. Music was synchronized with lighting effects, which were superb. All of the musicians were from high school and they were outstanding! Hailey was also tasked with quick changes of actor’s costumes off stage. Many of the costumes Hailey made herself. Those young high school kids had marvelous singing voices, beyond anything I have ever heard and the play was done with British accents, not one of them missed a beat.
I took my camera with me, but there were no cameras or videos allowed during the play because of some copyrighting issue. I did get some pictures of the actors after the play was over.
My pictures do not do justice, perhaps due to lighting and my focusing. I had a lot of fun seeing the play and the excitement those kids had during and after the show. I believe the show goes on again tonight at Kickapoo high school. This was the first play I have seen since 1963 and it was grand. Those kids worked for eight weeks after school and into the night rehearsing and their talent sparkled.
