220715 The 8 Billion

Happy days, our Annie was just days old in 1967.

This is not about dollars, but rather it is about people.
With all the people on this planet
What are the odds of you being you and not someone else?
You could have been any one of the other 7,999,999,999 on earth
But you are you and no one else is you or even close to being you
I think that means you are a special person, with a unique character
There are roughly 3,500,000 different people in America
That is out of the rest of the 7,996,499,999 people who are not in the USA
Those others, who most of them live in far worse places than what we have here
You may feel that your life is not what you would want it to be
Considering the alternative, you are living better than those in other countries
None of you have had my particular setback
I have not had your setbacks, or the things that you have suffered
We all have our share of our unique sorrows no one else can have
We all have our triumphs that only apply to the one person that is you
Life goes on with or without us and all we can do is enjoy what we have
That is our particular life experience, what is only ours and no one else's
Simple kindness is ours to share with friends, lovers and even strangers
There is no cost in being kind to others, but the payback to us is wonderful
I wish you safety and happiness throughout your lifetime.
