220531 Sentinel, Annie

My daughter Annie came to visit me yesterday on Memorial Day.
We had a wonderful time together. Rhett and Hailey were both working so it was just the two of us. Annie has a good heart and she is still a daddy’s girl after 55 years. She worried about me when I was aboard ship when she was a little girl.
When Joyce was close to death several times in 2017 after her first aneurysm and was rushed to Saint Louis for treatment Annie grabbed some clothes and we headed to Saint Louis. She never hesitated for a single moment and she was by my side for several weeks away from her family, because I needed her to give me moral support. We had a rough time there, being in the waiting room wondering if at any moment would be Joyce’s last moment on earth. We had a hotel room near the hospital, but spent most of the time beside Joyce or in the waiting room.
In September of 2021 when Joyce went unconscious and was taken to the hospital in Springfield after suffering her second aneurysm, Annie was again beside me in Joyce’s final hours. When we had to make the most horrific decision of our lives Annie supported me again.
Now I am confident that when my time comes, Annie will be there for me. And she will have another grueling and sad task of taking care of my final needs and using whatever funds I have left to pay off my final expenses. Knowing this gives me peace of mind. In conclusion, I am pleased to know Joyce and I have raised Annie well.
