220216 Sentinel, The old barn

In 2004 I had to finally tear down my old barn that was at least 100 years old.
I had mixed emotions that day.
The pictures below show the steps I took, using my old truck, a chain and a crowbar. The small white part was a one room building that someone had lived in at one time. It had a chimney and a little wood stove, some shelves for canned goods and a small bed and that was it. I often wondered about living like that. What kind of life was it? The barn area was added onto the small white building later. The day I burned all of the dry rotted wood was astounding! That burned like a giant pile of papers and was so hot I couldn’t be within 25 feet of the blaze.
