210716 Sentinel, Marriage

mobile theme

Today’s song in my brain is,
“Chapel of Love.”

Today’s song has a special place in my heart. The song became popular just before Joyce and I were married. My father despised the song. I still have the song on my computer and listen to it frequently. I’m no expert on the subject of marriage. All I have is my own personal experience and some knowledge garnered from men and women I have known.
Two Women

One was Joyce’s mother. She married a sailor during WW-2 and had 2 lovely girls. They were happy together until Joyce’s father died at the age of 45 and devastated her life for many years. The other is a friend we met from Texas. Her wonderful marriage ended too soon when her husband passed away far too young.
My time in the navy I heard countless sailors stories about how their wives bankrupted them while they were on cruises and sending their whole paychecks home.

This last song,
“North East Texas Women”
It is dedicated to my friends in Texas. I send it with the hope that they enjoy it.
