The Sentinel, Writers, Yoga and Drunks 200504

The Sentinel

All the news that's fit to print and some that's not.

Writers

I love writers and their visionary abilities. They create visionary stories that actually come true.
For instance Philip Francis Nolan back in 1934 who wrote the Buck Rodgers serial series for movie theaters. I remember them from Saturday movie matinees. They were so fantastic, people going into outer space in rocket ships, why that was never going to happen, until it did. Where did he come up with something like that?
Gene Roddenberry who wrote the original Star Trek series. Who would ever dream something like that could happen? Yet we are now close to having that happen in the next century or less.
George Lucas wrote Star Wars and while we are not there yet, there are the beginnings of it today with what are called killer satellites. They are denied by governments, but they do exist and they are shooting down other satellites.

Yoga

I said that yoga had no ill effects, but now I know there are at least one. Joyce is losing some excess body mass and we will soon be out buying her some new slacks.
Here's the thing though, she looks better, feels better and well, I'll not go into the other benefits that I am enjoying.

Drunks

There are all kinds of drunks in our world, but they seem to be in 3 main categories to me.
1 Mean and violent and just total asses.
2 Crazy and funny, I like them.
3 Mellow and sentimental and that is how I picture myself. I do at rare times cross over into the crazy and funny and sometimes into a foul mood and perhaps make some statements I regret, but never into violence.
My dear old mother (was not a drinker, even though she was Irish) always said drunks always say what is on their minds and don't lie.
