The Veterans Administration 191123

The VA is, in my mind, one of the most important government agencies.

In WW-2 many wounded soldiers did not survive due to battle conditions that prevented getting them to an aid station and higher level trauma facilities. They died on the battlefield.Things got better in the field during the Vietnam war. There were air evacuation helicopters available in many cases. Iraq and Afghanistan soldiers have/had evacuation helicopters and had a high-level trauma center a flight away in Germany. Present day soldiers have a much better chance of surviving a horrible injury than ever before.

Soldiers are now living where others did not. Many of those saved will now live a life that struggling and coping with their situation will never end. And this is where the VA comes into play. It is my understanding the VA handles missing limbs well. I do not know how quickly the system handles those problems. The cost for the VA is high and it will continue to be so, but the veterans deserve every cent after what they did for this country.

One thing that falls short in treatment is getting help to those who may not be missing a limb, but they are definitely needing psychological assistance. I think this picture below says everything to back my case.
