Songs come with memories 190921

Love songs seem to flow like a gentle stream. The melody prompts old memories.

We were listening to our old music recordings today. A Johnny Mathis song "Chances Are" came on Joyce and I were dancing to the music. The recording brought back a host of fond memories for both of us. Some were when we were together, some before we met.
The song was from the Misty album and his greatest hits album. The song was recorded in 1957 and the album was a huge hit with teens at the time. Everyone who danced, was dancing to that song.
A friend of mine (Pat J) was infatuated with a girl (Diane W) and he bought the album to give to her for her birthday. She was thrilled with the album, but had no feelings for Pat at all. He gained no prominence in her eyes and was a sad sack for a long time, maybe he never got over her. I don't know. Unrequited love is one of the sad things in life.
If you are interested in hearing the song, it's one click away using this link.
