Global Warming

Many people say global warming is junk science. Allstate insurance company is running a TV commercial with Dennis Haysbert that portends that a once in every 500 years storm seems like nothing to worry about, until you realize we have had 20 of them in the US during the last decade. Ah, but that's just a commercial to sell insurance, right? Those fake news stories about north and south Carolina being flooded and destroyed by a hurricane just a month ago, not true? Those videos of hurricane Michael wiping out Tyndall air force base in Panama city, Florida this week sure looked real enough, but most likely it was done on a Hollywood movie set. After all global warming is nothing more than junk science. The US navy is buying into that junk science hoax, wasting 300 million dollars to raise their port docks in Norfolk, Virginia. Rising sea levels, bah, just another trick being played on us, scare tactics.

I hope everyone reading this realizes this column is all sarcasm. I do believe global warming is a huge threat to our country.

Country Music

Many people do not realize this, but rock & roll music started as rock-a-billy in the fifties. Country went a little bit into rock and now we know rock is big. Country music shifted back to real country in the sixties and on until recently when someone killed country music in Nashville when artists used rock & drums and guitars all mixed up in my face. Now it is difficult to find a real country music station in my area. It's sad because this area was one of the first to have country music on TV. Life is always changing, sometimes for the better and sometimes not so much.

Football

Football, in my opinion, has taken over from baseball as America's game. Ticket sales and stadiums filled prove my point. Baseball games rarely fill a stadium until the playoffs and the World Series, but football college and professional games fill stadiums to capacity for every game I see. Basketball is okay and the athletes are astounding, but it just doesn't have the draw of a stadium filled to capacity and all the excitement that causes. These are my conclusions and as always I may be wrong, but I think I am pretty good on this assessment.
