Country Castle

      Our humble country estate
      was never all that great
      but it made me smile
      for quite a while
      it fulfilled a dream
      as small as that may seem
      but as time warped the fable
      I was no longer able
      to do the things that needed to be done
      and all those chores were no longer fun
      too many battles that needed to be won
      too many things just went undone
      then the dream became a nightmare
      with so many obstacles everywhere
      it wasn't that I didn't care
      I just didn't have the energy to spare
      sometimes there is joy in life
      other times there is strife
