Before and After 1806


      In a lighter vein from recent posts, I found the pictures below and the difference is amazing to me. Both are me, left is me days before joining the navy and those curls were natural. The right is weeks later in boot camp, my first ID photo. I was wondering if I had just made a big mistake. Left, long hair, happy. Right, short hair, unhappy.



      My mother cut one of those curly locks of hair the day before I joined the navy. She put it in an envelope and gave it to Joyce. That envelope is still here somewhere 55 years later. The picture below is me and my bride just 20 short years ago. By then I had no hair, but was happy to be with Joyce.
