Last night and today the protests and violence in Charlottesville has been appalling. My America has had its problems before, but this is beyond anything I can remember. It is time for America to unite, not clash. This is the 21st century and it is time to stop this violence in our streets. We have soldiers fighting in foreign lands to protect the American freedoms, risking their lives, and for what, this? It is shameful and it needs to stop right now, today. This is not the American ideal. This type of event fuels our enemies with hatred for America and aids in recruitment to fight against us. America needs leadership to decry this behavior and enforce our laws.
