Late Blooms on the Farm Today
I was out for a walk through the woods and the yard today and found some late blooms I did not expect. This first is a weed in the woods that reminds me of a snowball bush.
The next one here is a black eyed Susan I found on my way back toward the house. I thought they were all done and gone by now.
The next was out by the mailbox. It looks like a Grecian windflower, but is not Grecian but it is wild.
On my way back I stopped at this sunflower to snap a quick picture.
After finishing my walk I stopped near the house and took some shots of our beleaguered remains in Joyce's herb garden. This is our Russian sage and it has been a delight all season. It is a perennial so we get to enjoy it each year with very little effort.
This next picture is a zinnia that struggled early this year with excessive rain and little sunshine, but finally has bloomed well.
