We made a trip today to a grocery store about 10 miles away. The trip was stunning with all the fall colors on the way. We have lived in the area for 27 years now, but none have ever been this colorful as this year. We were just stunned by all the color.
That said, the grocery store prices were also astounding! Prices have gone up dramatically for several years now, yet the government with its CPI index has claimed there has been no inflation for several years now. How they get that when gasoline, propane, food, taxes and everything I can think of have gone up every year by leaps and bounds. I just tried to look up the CPI index and could find nothing but gobbledygook and no factual information.
So we came home, unloaded the groceries and pulled out the Christmas CD collection and mellowed out. A few beers, a smoke and a lot of old Christmas memories makes for a great day.
