Pellets of sleet and flakes of snow
Fall on an icy, slippery road below
County road trucks plow as they roam
Making me glad I’m sitting at home
The temperature is freezing, humidity high
No sun breaks through our cloudy sky
The furnace runs all through the day
The propane bill will be hell to pay
Outside Christmas decorations are still hung with care
I don’t know when I’ll get them down from there
They go up when it is still nice and warm for play
They usually come down on a chilly January day
I think I’ll just unplug them and wait out the storm
Maybe I’ll get lucky and have a day that is warm
