Rain, Farmers and Cattle Farming

Yea we had more than 150 drops of rain today!
Despite all that rain, things still look the same.
It looks like our gardening is done for this year.
All of my neighbors grow cows around here, now I know why.
The neighbors are hurting too though, while cattle prices are high, grain and extra hay to feed cattle are still higher.
While you are paying $9 a pound for steak, and $3 a pound for watered down, fat added hamburger, the farmers are getting little over a $1 per pound on the hoof for cattle.
If that sounds pretty good to you, consider the farmers are having to sit out all night with shotguns in hand to ward off modern-day rustlers from stealing the herd.
Yes an entire herd can vanish overnight, years of work gone in a flash.
