I watched 60 minutes on TV tonight. I don’t know if it was a new program or a repeat, but I don’t care. They had a segment on the Medicare drug bill spearheaded through congress two years ago. The bill was passed in the middle of the night and voting was held open for three hours instead of the more normal 15 minutes. The three hours allowed congressmen and women along with armies of lobbyists to arm-twist the nay voters on this abomination of the congressional system. The arm twisters have since left congress to pursue new careers as lobbyists for the same drug companies they helped get this bill approved as a law. If it were anywhere in the civil system these people would be in criminal court or sentenced by now, but because lawmakers did it, they walk free with million dollars a year salaries at our expense. The critical point in this legislation was the denial to the Medicare system to allow it to negotiate drug prices with pharmaceutical companies. The result has been billions of dollars in excess profits for the big drug companies and an equal amount of cost for Medicare recipients. The VA uses the same drugs, but they are allowed to negotiate pricing and buy them for 50 to 80 percent less than Medicare. If you think you smell something rotten, you’re right!

The Democrats have initiated a bill to correct this criminal offense, but the Criminal-in-Chief George W. Bush has already vowed to veto the bill.

It’s clear that the system is broken! Our government is open for bribery on a daily basis. It’s corruption at these levels that has destroyed all great civilizations in history. And now our nation is falling into the abyss. If you look at any third world country the corruption is the same and it’s the corruption that sends them deeper into debt. And now we are just like them.

The latest US Attorney firings show the attempts of the Bush administration to use the legal system to jail their political foes or eliminate any Attorneys who refused to go on political witch-hunts. Will the next thing be open assassinations of political enemies?
