260705 Explosions

Last night the bombs were bursting, but I don’t know where.
I didn’t get much sleep last night.

I didn’t see the rockets red glare
I didn’t see bombs bursting in air
My ears gave proof through the night that someone was out there
I opened my eyes this morning and my star spangled banner was still there.

It was hanging right where I left it.

    I was hearing the booms well into the overnight hours up to 2 am before it slowed down.
