Future

“I don’t know where I’m going, but I hope I know it when I get there.”

This above is a song reference from a movie I saw many years ago. It has stuck with me over time, for some reason. There were times in my life when I knew exactly what I was going to do, but as the song says, “I knew it when I get there.” I got there a few times and it was, I found out, a disaster.

Another favorite quote: “You never know when you do an act,
what the result will be,
you sow a seed,
the result of which,
you may never see.” Well, I’ve seen a few of those results. Some were good and some were not good.

Just because we may fail is not the end, it’s the beginning of wisdom. My failures taught me and led me to something better. “You gotta have heat, all you really need is heart, when the odds are saying you’ll never win, get up with a grin and start, all you really need is heart.” (From the movie, Damn Yankees)

Never give up hope. Thomas Edison and Henry Ford failed hundreds of times before becoming titans of commerce. You and I are capable people who have followed our own paths and had success. One needs to consider how life is on a scale. Look at the very bottom of human failure, look at the top. You and I are somewhere on that scale. Remember in school the grades were A-B-C-D-F. I was always a C, you, my friend are better than C, if you weren’t better than a C you would not be getting this mail, because I could never tolerate anyone who wasn’t smarter than me. It’s a fault I’ve always had. I always want to be with someone smarter than I am, so I can learn from them.
