221125 Thanksgiving for Three Motherless Children.

My benefactors for Thanksgiving 2022, the handsome Rhett

My favorite and beautiful daughter, Annie

Thanksgiving for three Motherless Children.

The mutt on the left is me, Rhett is on the right side.

Yesterday, Thanksgiving, Annie and Rhett brought over dinner to share with me. It was slow roasted turkey, slow roasted pork loin, mashed potatoes, gravy, carrots, celery, homemade rolls and Marie Callender’s chocolate silk pie. A grand feast was had by all. I was stuffed like a Christmas goose. Rhett is a really good chef. He has been cooking for over 25 years. The dinner was one even Joyce would have been proud to serve.

Annie is on the left and that's me on the right side.

I missed having Joyce with us, but I have a feeling she may have watched over us yesterday. I miss those days when Joyce would cook for 20 plus people on the farm. We had a houseful of people we loved. Those days are gone, but not forgotten. The summer before Joyce passed away, Joyce told me that she thought she had one more big Thanksgiving dinner to cook, but she didn’t think she had another Christmas dinner left in her to cook. I thought she was referring to being able to cook big in the way she so enjoyed, never dreaming that she would no longer be on earth to cook. She didn’t even live until thanksgiving that year.

The feast was a surprise for me. I didn’t know until the day before that they would be able to make it. Rhett has his business to run and he is very busy these days, installing and repairing heating and air conditioning systems. He does both residential and commercial systems.

In case you are wondering about the title of this post, it was Annie’s idea. We are three motherless children. I thought it was a clever title, so I used it for this post.
