I understand why I get so much junk mail through the postal service because I have ordered many things online and those companies sell your address to every other company. I used to subscribe to AARP until it became depressive reading the publication. They never give up sending junk mail and sell your address to every company they can make a dollar from.
What I do not understand is why Joyce gets so much junk mail. She never had an online presence. So where does all of that junk mail come from? I never put her mane on those types of orders.
I get a constant stream of calls that leave messages when I don’t answer the calls. The same messages keep coming in using different phone numbers after I label them as spam. They must have hundreds of numbers for each of those companies.
All I want these days is a winning lottery ticket!
I was wondering yesterday while watching a Geico commercial with the Gecko in it and it was moving around. It turns out that the Gecko is a computer-generated animation the same as in many movies these days. Now I know how they make those commercials. I just wish Flo would stop making Progressive commercials. I am really tired of them too.
Back many years ago, my dad said, “ Rich men need insurance to protect their assets, but why does everyone else need it?” These days we buy insurance for many things and we are insurance poor because of it, but we have to have it to live a responsible life and protect the few things we have, including health insurance. Back when we bought the farm the insurance companies would only insure the house for $75,000 and that was the highest number we found. We lived there for 27 more years in the same house and when we left they had it insured for $125,000 despite the fact that it was the same house, just older. I always wondered that if the house would have burned down would the company pony up that much dough? Of course the cost of the insurance went up every year. Our property taxes went from $125 a year to $125 a month. I called the assessor to question the raises in the taxes on the same old house. His reply was, “The cost goes up because of the increased value of homes in your neighborhood. That didn’t make any sense to me, but then there was nothing I could do to make that change.
