Your Sentinel Living Today 200723

I wake each morning
Realize my spirit's still here
Coffee, yoga and breakfast is near
There's chores to follow every day
Things seem to work well that way
We live a solitary life
Mostly just me and my wife
Each day we take our walk
We meet a neighbor and we talk
After We exchange our greetings
Sometimes that ends our meetings
Perhaps there's good news to discuss
Other times we just whine and cuss
After many hours have passed
It's time for beer and whiskey at last
We eat just one main meal for the day
Later we have a healthy snack along the way
We'd like to have company more often
But we don't want to rush into our coffin
We want to let people we're not feeling rotten
Worse than that we don't want to be forgotten
