Loading up the CD player I found a song on one of our CD's I hadn't listened to in a while. The song is by a group called The Casinos in 1967 and the title of the song is Then you can tell me goodbye. The title suggests it is a breakup song, but it is in my opinion one of the best love songs ever. It's from a group that was not real popular, but they hit the jackpot on that song. I hope you give the link a click and just revel in the song. I suppose it says a lot about me and the love I have for the woman I married fifty five years, seven months, 23 days and seven hours ago. I doubt that I have ever done anything better than that.
That same CD had some of my favorite tunes on it. I rediscovered two that I thought were lost. They are by the Scottish singer Donovan Leich in July of 1966. The first song is Sunshine Superman He wrote it for his love interest at the time. I can't help myself; I am a hopeless romantic and I never want to change. The second song is Mellow Yellow both songs are classified as psychedelic but I never ingested any of that stuff and I liked the songs.
One last song I found on You Tube today (been searching for it for years now). Black is Black I want My Baby Back The song was very popular in the Philippines in 1966/67. The link above has the song. I never heard it in the U.S. but I was gone overseas most of the time, it was popular in the U.S. and UK at that time. I think it was also on armed Forces radio. The video link has the group being chased by some senoritas at the end of the video. I didn't even know it was a Spanish group. They were called Los Bravos. I learn something new every day, too bad I can't always remember it.
