Good times long ago 190901

This first picture is Doug, an old navy buddy. It was taken in Red Feather Lakes in Colorado where he lived.

Doug loved Johnny Cash songs; I did too. The last time Joyce and I visited with him we listened to Cash all the time, despite our wives objections. I still have a collection of Cash songs. Every time I listen to one of his songs I think of Doug and I must admit they bring a tear to my eyes when I am drinking my beer. Doug was not a good influence on me, but not a terrible influence and we had some great times together. I had one of Cash's songs in a playlist today and Joyce asked me if... and I finished her question with yes I think of Doug whenever I hear a Johnny Cash song.

Doug had a home high in the Rockies and it was a dandy. Note the American flag flying.

Deer and moose were abundant. This picture is a moose cow with her nearly grown baby.

The scenery was wonderful with the rock formations.

One of my favorites is this one below. I still look at this picture and wonder how that tree could have grown out of that tight rock formation.

Inside the house was different than anything I had ever seen.

Doug had quit hunting, but never gave up his rifles.

I like to think old Doug is corrupting the angels in heaven now. Neither Joyce or I will ever forget him.
