I was looking for something on one of my flash drives today when it struck me how much has advanced in the last 16 years.
Look at the picture below:
On the right is the very first flash drive I ever bought 16 years ago. It is a 64 megabyte drive that I paid $28 for. On the left is a 64 gigabyte drive from the same manufacturer. The left is considerably smaller, yet it holds 1000 times more data and runs more than 10 times faster and it was slightly less money to purchase. The one on the left could be significantly smaller, but then it would be tough to plug and unplug it from the computer.
I just have to admire technology.
