Brain Games

There is a show on Netflix called Brain Games that I watch and enjoy. The show points out some funny things that our brains do that we are not aware of.
For instance, our eyes only see in two dimensions, but our brain adds the third dimension for depth perception. An example, stand with your hands by your side. Now raise your arms so your hands are at eye level and are separated at the width of your shoulders and point your index fingers at each other. Close one eye and try to touch the tips of your index fingers to each other. It is nearly impossible to touch them tip to tip on the first try. That is because the brain uses your stereoscopic vision to create that third dimension.
The last show I watched pitted 20 somethings against retirees in driving, number sequences and one game where they showed this word “scoreboard” and gave them 2 minutes to write down as many words as possible using only the letters in scoreboard. You can reuse any letters in a different word. The 20 somethings averaged 6 words, the retirees averaged 12. Take 2 minutes and see how many words you can make out of scoreboard. When you are done, scroll down and see how many are possible.
