Narrow Miss
I called my sister last week. She and her husband live 85 miles north of us. Her husband to be had bought a 40 acre plot 30 years ago. He had built a barn on the place and later planted the 40 in Christmas trees. 25 years ago a tornado ripped through the 40 and destroyed all the trees just before he was to harvest them. They finally built a house this year there and were moving in last week when the weather turned from bad to worse. They were standing in the barn when they saw a huge tornado forming near the place. She said it was all the colors of the rainbow as it formed and all she could think about was, this can't happen to us again. Lucky for them the tornado passed by before it set down and potentially destroyed their new home.
On another note I was thinking of a long gone aunt of mine. 50 years ago in Missouri the laws did not allow 5% beer to be sold on a Sunday. She was in a country bar saying, "You can't get drunk on 3.2% beer" as she fell off the bar stool.
