A Rainy Day

Rain is such a strange thing
We never know what rain will bring
It is never what we want it to be
It is either too little or too much you see

Sometimes severe winds it brings
Tearing off roofs, tree branches and other things
Sometimes there’s a lot of hail
Making summer grass look like a wintery trail

Gardens seem to like a lot of rain
But they never like a hurricane
Farmers can’t plant a field that’s too wet
They always suffer with whatever rain they get

I never care for a rainy day
My dark emotions get in the way
When the sun comes out after a storm
I feel so very safe and warm

I rush right out to work or play
My dark emotions kept at bay
I can’t help but love a sunny day
In each and every single way
