Cones and Blooms on the Farm Today

These Asiatic lilies are wonderful this time of year.

Cone flowers are always welcome here on the farm.

These are lady bells and I was surprised to see them because they haven't come up for a few years.

I planted this white spruce many years ago. The tree had a split trunk and half of it died two or three years ago, now it looks like the other half may die after this year. It is funny that trees sometimes produce a flourish of fruit or in this case cones right before they die. It is nature at work.

If you look closely you can see a bob white quail in Joyce's herb garden this morning. He is in the center of the picture.
