We all have heard of and probably have used Doctor Sholls
shoe insoles; but what was the origin of those insoles? I submit to you that
the concept was initiated during the great depression when poor people could
not afford shoes so they put cardboard in their shoes so their socks were not
hitting the pavement.
Federal Income taxes began in the war of 1861. They were
repealed in 1871. They started again in 1913, but working people did not make
enough to pay them. They went viral in 1942 when the country had to pay for the
war. The problem was no withholding so in 1943 the working class could not
afford to pay their taxes. The tax was supposed to be dropped for working
people after the war, but then we all know that never happened.
