The Irish

We are not the brightest candle in the room, but we are always interesting. My grandfather and grandmother lived in 23 residences in 22 years because my grandmother kept my grandfather broke buying furniture and she always fought with their neighbors. In the old days when a family member died they would lay out the corpse in the living room with pennies on the eyes to keep the eyes from opening until burial day. Then when the family went to the funeral, the neighbors would enter the home and move everything to a new home while the family was at the funeral.

It’s difficult to beat traditions like that.
