Old folks
Puffing smokes
Pressing buttons on a machine
Damn nest thing that I’ve ever seen
For hours a day
They press away
Looking at a display
Hoping the machine will pay
To me it seems
Never in their wildest dreams
Would they be so funny
To take a job that might pay no money
Yet they sit and stare as if they don’t care
Now over at the card table
That’s where I am able
To spend my day
Viewing cards for no pay
With a sympathetic crowd
That sometimes moans out loud
When the dealer waxes the table
As he/she is often times is able
