News Editor Loses Job!

William Weber the long-time editor/chief photographer for the Sentinel News was laid off from his day job at Northrop Grumman Interconnect Technologies. The stunned Mister Weber was speechless, having never been laid off before. He was however able to pen this brief synopsis of his career.
2007 Reduction in force from Northrop/Grumman Interconnect Technologies (Litton) due to plant closing after 19.5 years on the job.
2007 Micro-Section Lab: worked as a Lab Tech where I routed, mounted, polished and inspected board coupon micro-sections under a microscope to ensure our high-density multi-layer circuit boards met or exceeded customer requirements, using IPC and or Military 55110 requirements. Reported results using Microsoft Access and Excel programs.
2007-1993 Reliability Lab: worked as a Process Control Technician. I analyzed in-house electrical failures and customer returned failures. Wrote reports using Microsoft Word for the analyses. Maintained a Microsoft Excel database of all electrical failures needing analysis. Tested Surface Insulation Resistance of panels, tested copper plated samples for tensile strength and elongation of the copper, tested laminated coupons for material curing, assisted Engineers in process development of new and existing materials as needed. Operated Scanning Electron Microscope to search for defects on a sub-micrometer scale. Operated x-ray scanning system for detection and definition of Periodic Elements in circuit board samples. I generated reports on findings of both systems. Wrote work instructions for using equipment in the lab. I detected and reported electrical failure trends in circuit boards, in their infancy, saving the company more than two million dollars during my tenure in the Reliability lab. I worked closely with the Reliability Engineer and the Director of Engineering to develop new technology to meet our customer’s needs. During this time I won four awards for employee suggestions, one of which was the top award for the year, good for $500. I received one award for exceptionally tedious and difficult analysis of failures on a new part made for Lucent Technologies. Two times I was recognized for excellent attendance.
2002 completed Ozarks Technical Community College classes in Microsoft Word and Excel. I also completed Introduction To Writing class at Ozarks Technical Community College and Write Like A Pro through the Ozarks Technical Community College Ed-To-Go on-line courses.
1993-1988 Rework operator: I worked in Final Inspection doing cosmetic and electrical rework on circuit boards.
This is the condensed version of the resume, revealing just the last 19.5 years. The full version going all the way back to birth is available. I am interested in writing, and I am in the process of sorting and rewriting the last eight years of material for submission to publishers. I write about anything and everything that comes to mind. Some examples of my writing are available at:
