Just a Few Notes On Things I Got From The Media Today

I was listening to NPR on the way home from work today and Terry Gross was interviewing English comedian and actor Sacha Baron Cohen, the man who is well known as 'Borat'. Cohen is Jewish and he does lots of comedy skits making fun of everyone, and especially Jews. Terry played a clip from one of his skits where he was singing a song titled "Throw the Jew Down the Well." Terry asked Cohen if the people in the audience singing along didn't promote anti-antisemitism. He replied that he thought it did, even if they meant no harm. Here's the link to the radio interview: http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=6723074 I just have to wonder why this guy is singing "Throw the Jew Down the Well" if he's worried about promoting antisemitism? He is funny and the song is too, but why do it?

Bush is only now going to send a surge of troops into Iraq. Again, why? These Sunis and Sheites have been fighting tribes for 6000 years and no matter how long we stay in Iraq, 6 months later they'll be back to what they've been doing for those 6000 years, just as I said they would in 2002 before Bush started his war.

I saw a commercial on TV tonight about cats. I think they were selling cat litter and proclaiming how cats loved it. Then the scene cut away and this cat was on top of the headboard of a woman's bed. The cat dropped down onto her pillow and she welcomed it into her arms. Now pardon me, but that cat just used his paws and claws to bury a fresh load of crap and now he jumps on his mistresses pillows, where her face will lie tonight. Does anyone else see the problem here?
