I know some people say I should be more supportive of the leader of our country. The facts are the man deserves nothing more than what he earns, just like the rest of us. The support he's gotten so far is well beyond what he deserved. Respect and followers are something leaders earn. They are not a gift. To use one of the current Right-Wing witticisms, "freedom is anything but free." Well "respect" isn't free either. It has to be earned by diligence and hard work. So far Bush hasn't earned any points. Quite the contrary, he's in negative territory. His tax cuts have benefited only the wealthy. His handling of the economy has lost more jobs than it has earned. His Senior drug plan is a nightmare. He and his cronies put a despicable spin on the intelligence data they used to send us into a war we shouldn't have started and has made us less safe from terrorists than we ever were. And now tonight his plan to do more of the same old thing in Iraq will accomplish more of the same old thing in Iraq. More dollars wasted on a people who will never change. More importantly more U.S. Soldiers and Marines will die for nothing more than a chance for Bush to have something, anything, to lend credit an otherwise despicable six years in office. I say no more decent young Soldiers or Marines should die so the Texas frat boy has a chance to point to some tiny accomplishment when he's gone from power. He should be tried for war crimes when he's finally removed from office, along with Cheney, Rumsfeld and the rest of the gang.
I'm proud that I served my country well and honorably so I can exercise the freedom to speak the truth about those who disgrace this country.
Bill
