I’ve had a wonderful life
had a wonderful wife
was a cook, a teacher, a sailor
but somehow never a tailor
have sailed more than half the world
and that’s the truth I’ve told
I’ve sailed over many a sea
they all looked the same to me
after the navy a dream came to me
soon a farmer I would be
bought myself an old farm
in such bad shape I could do no harm
kept an 8 hour day job in town
worked the farm till the sun went down
27 years later my strength dropped down
sold the farm and moved to town
now I am an old broken man
doing the best I can
all I have left is my memories
now I do whatever I please
here I’ll be until I die
then I’ll meet my God on high
