Fall is in the air today
cooler weather is on the way
the tree’s shadows to the north are rotating
summer’s heat is now abating
winter’s chill is in the waiting
a fact that I am not overstating
the frost will soon be on the ground
bringing shivers all around
leaves will fall from the trees
allowing that cold northern breeze
the outdoor chairs will be put away
waiting for another late spring day
the cycle of seasons will never end
though extreme weather can make it bend
